Drain cameras are particularly useful in finding cracks, or breaks in pipes, sometimes caused poor initial installation, environmental factors such as ground movement, temperature changes and poor compaction around the pipe. Secondly, pipe sagging can occur, from erosion of materials that are supposed to support the pipe, which can cause the pipe to sag or belly, where waste cannot flow properly and gets caught. Although not very common, pipes can also collapse, due to very old piping material breaking as well as where inferior products and installations of products such as 90mm stormwater pipe, that can bow, flex and break a lot more easily, compared to 100mm sewer pipe.
