Happy Plumbing is Happy to support and promote the invaluable work Menslink does in the Canberra Community. Menslink provides free counselling, education and mentoring to young fellas in the ACT community.

Menslink’s mission is close to Happy Plumbing’s owners heart, who through a similar program growing up, was given a better start to life, then he otherwise would of had, without the generosity of a positive male role model. Going full circle, Happy Plumbing is proud to promote and support Menslinks mentor program and is actively involved working with young fellas as part of the Menslinks mentor program.

Silence is Deadly, Everything is Possible, so get a conversation happening today so that current and future generations can live healthier and happier lives.

Improving World Health One Toilet at a Time.

We understand that Australians are doing it tough out there. With cost-of-living pressures through the roof, where wages can’t keep up, there’s a lot of angst and worry about. And our hearts go out to those doing it tough.

Despite hard times, we at Happy Plumbing try and look at things to be grateful for. As recent as only a few generations ago, the first world did not have many of the mod cons, such as electricity, clean running water or proper sanitisation. The fact that our ancestors survived outbreaks of cholera, diarrheal diseases, trachoma and soil transmitted disease mean we are lucky to be here today.

Unfortunately, some parts of the world are still not as fortunate as we are. Despite some increases in life expectancy in Africa and other nations, it is estimated that over 2.5 billion worldwide still do not have access to basic sanitisation, causing preventable disease and death. This sad reality hits home hard, when you think of all the unnecessary pain and suffering still going on today.

Fortunately, through projects such as the Reinvent the Toilet Challenge, and generous funding by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, improvements are being made. Including a new $350 US Tiger Toilet, that was invented and has been rolled out too many third world countries to help stop the spread of disease and provide greater dignity.

There’re small ways that we too can make a difference in this world. That is why Happy Plumbing will donate one Tiger Toilet per annum towards the cause, to help one family at a time live a healthier and happier life.
